Lawyers Weekly Security Policy
Below are details about the information Lawyers Weekly collects, when we collect it and how we use it:
Orders and Registrations
When you order a subscription online and/or register for on-line services
as a current subscriber we collect your name, firm/company name, address, telephone
number and your e-mail address to verify your request and correspond with you about your
subscription and service. We may also use this information to inform you of additional services and products, and let you know about
new features in the newspaper and on our website. If you prefer not to receive any e-mail
communication from us and/or our partners and other product and service providers, you may opt-out by
sending an e-mail
to comments@lawyersweekly.com
and type "remove" in the subject line.
Security
At Lawyers
Weekly protecting your information is a priority. While there is always some
risk of privacy infringements whenever information is conveyed electronically,
we try to be proactive to minimize that risk. Our secure pages use Secure
Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to protect the security of your online order
information. When giving your credit card number, SSL encrypts all personal
information including your card number, name and address. With this encryption,
only Lawyers Weekly is allowed to decode your information. How can you be sure
any connection is secure? Simply look at the lower left-hand or right-hand
corner of your browser window. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock, the
SSL is active and your information is secure. You can also double-check by
looking at the URL line of your browser. When accessing a secure server, the
first characters of the site address will change from 'http' to 'https.' If for
some reason you are unable to connect to our secure server or would rather
place your order by phone, please call us at 1-800-444-5297 x 8156.
Cookies
We use cookies to make our website easier to use: if you choose to have our website remember your username and password for future use, cookies will save you the trouble of typing in your username and password to reach our subscriber-only features on the website. We do not store personally identifiable information in your cookie. Your system has to be set up to accept cookies and your security level should be at medium in order to access the "Subscriber Only" benefits.
